City officials and Delta boating enthusiasts gathered along Marina Boulevard in Pittsburg on Wednesday to celebrate the grand reopening of the upgraded Central Harbor Park and Boat Launch Facility, marking a major milestone in the city's waterfront revitalization program. Funded through a combination of California Division of Boating and Waterways grants and municipal capital improvement funds, the modernized facility expands safe recreational access to the Suisun Bay and Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.

Engineering crews reconstructed the multi-lane concrete boat launch ramp, installed corrosion-resistant aluminum boarding floats with Americans with Disabilities Act compliant gangways, and upgraded the adjacent parking lot with high-efficiency LED security lighting. The park promenade also features a new stainless-steel fish-cleaning station, updated marine restroom facilities, and native drought-tolerant shoreline landscaping overlooking the Pittsburg Marina basin.

Across central Contra Costa County, Contra Costa County Public Works simultaneously announced scheduled safety surfacing maintenance at Big Oak Tree Park in the unincorporated community of Clyde. County facilities crews will close the play area at 102 Wellington Avenue on Tuesday, October 27, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., to pour and cure seamless impact-attenuating rubberized surfacing beneath the neighborhood climbing structures.

Pittsburg Marina harbormaster staff confirmed that the Central Harbor Launch ramp is now open daily from dawn to dusk, with automated launch fee kiosks accepting contactless payments at the entrance gate. Clyde residents seeking updates on next Tuesday's play area maintenance at Big Oak Tree Park can contact Contra Costa County Public Works Customer Service at (925) 313-2000 or visit contracosta.ca.gov.
